"I had a friend who was a life-long activist and also a highly organized person. Every year, she would send an email out to her inner circle with the subject line: “In case anything should happen to me.” When something unexpected and ultimately fatal did happen to her, her friends and family used the information in that email to contact each other and to organize. That one email made an awful time a little bit easier.
Reading the news these days, I keep thinking about what she did back then, wishing that everyone took the same care of their loved ones that she did. I also realize that I haven't send my own “just in case” email, and am going to correct that immediately. I strongly encourage you to do the same. "
