Exploring Forgiveness - with Stephen Levine as our guide
Monday, February 3rd. 6:30 pm
We will play the 30 minute guided Forgiveness- Metta meditation from Stephen Levine's recorded talk “In the Heart lies the Deathless”.
In Stephen's book “A Year to Live”, the chapter on forgiveness has a script that is similar to this meditation. From the intro to that chapter: “Forgiveness renews life by finishing unfinished business. . . We cannot force forgiveness because force closes the heart, but we can explore its possibilities, its capacity to heal the forgiver and sometimes the forgiven.”
"The practice of forgiveness opens the mind to the natural compassion of the heart. Practiced daily, it allows ancient clinging to dissolve. . . . Forgiveness finishes business by letting go of the armoring which separates one heart from another. “
The Bardo Lounge visits all issues regarding the practical and spirtiual aspects of life, death, dying, joy, grief, and transition are discussed-encircling many traditions.
