The Wisdom Center of Santa Cruz is honored to offer these teachings in coordination with the Land of Medicine Buddha. We are overjoyed to provide onsite and online gathering space for people seeking peace, clarity and an open heart. Your donations go a long way in helping us help you! Thank you!

This 8-week program includes a variety of perspectives on Buddhism and its colorful history, as well as parallels with modern psychology, & science. The course is based on the first book from The Library of Wisdom & Compassion Series by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and Thubten Chodren.

Approaching the Buddhist Path brings forth the heart teachings and history of Buddhism in an easy-to-understand format,  accessible to everyone. It bridges the extensive and profound Tibetan Buddhist teachings for our modern lifestyles. The Buddha taught his students to investigate his teachings for themselves. This series provides the space to do that. The group will discuss Dharma in a casual setting through teachings, discussion, Q&A, and meditation; a safe space to explore some of the most profound and interesting topics of Buddhism.

In person and online. Drop-ins welcome!

"His Holiness the Dalai Lama, with the capable assistance of Thubten Chodron, illuminates a path of awakening that is deeply integrative and utterly relevant to all the challenges that face humanity in the 21st century. Presented here is an authentic path to freedom from suffering and its inner causes and to tapping into the full potential of consciousness—our own buddha nature."

OFFERINGS:

The dharma cannot be sold or have a price put on it. Therefore, in accordance with Ven. Chime's Tibetan custom, there is no “door fee”. Rather, it is appropriate to make an offering based on what you can manage. No one will be turned away for lack of money. Think of it as “sliding scale”. If you are unsure how much is appropriate to offer the teacher, a reasonable rule of thumb is roughly the amount you earn in one hour for each hour of teachings.

Traditionally, white scarves (katak) are used to wrap offerings for presentation to the teacher at the end of the teachings. Your offerings can be presented in envelopes which are available at the door.

Your generous donations help support the teacher and our centers.
