Lama Lakshey Zangpo Rinpoche & Michael Burroughs
Thursday, September 5th, 2024 • 6:30 - 8 pm pacific time
In person and online.
Join Lama Lakshey and Michael Burroughs for a deeper look at Tibetan prophecies. As we learned in the first prophecy session, this important year can determine whether we head toward global disaster or not.
Epic stories of Tibet’s great warrior, KING GESAR, are still widely told throughout the Himalayas. The writings of Jamgon Ju Mipham fully reveal Gesar as Padmasambhava and the embodiment of the three great bodhisattvas —Manjushri, Avalokiteshvara, and Vajrapani combined. He appears significant now because of his vow to return as guru, yidam, and protector as things become increasingly degenerate. The importance of Gesar, his life and legacy, will be introduced along with Mipham’s importance to the perception of Gesar.
In addition, King Gesar’s practice at Larung Gar and his importance in protecting practitioners, the dharma in general, and reversing difficult situations will be discussed. Lama Lakshey Zangpo Rinpoche will present teaching and transmission of essential Gesar practices, termas revealed by Ju Mipham. These short, simple practices eliminate personal and global obstacles, opening the way for realization. This teaching is the foundation for you to be the one who averts destruction. Ultimately, Gesar’s transformative nature is your nature.
Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok said: “If you want to be like Gesar, start now. No need to wait for the future.”
Lama Lakshey Zangpo Rinpoche began his training as a spiritual master in Tibet, receiving the complete Khatok lineage empowerments and transmissions from Khatok Moktsa Rinpoche. At fifteen, he entered Larung Chokyi Drongkyer where he studied with
Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche, and many other sublime teachers.
Michael Burroughs is a knowledgeable and articulate teacher. As one of the first western students of the great Tibetan lamas Penor Rinpoche, Gangteng Rinpoche of Bhutan, Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, and Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche, he brings a uncommon and vast array of understanding in a competent, yet humorous way.
